Re: TV Box and Ethernet cable.
As mentionned by Rob, the boxes are are built with multiple interfaces as the vendor wants to reach the most diverse carriers possibles. That way they can be sold to carriers delivering tv by really varied methods. For example to carriers like France Telecom/Orange who are really pushing TV over IP as a method for delivering living room TV. It also gives cable providers scope to include functionality like what SKY currently provides on it's boxes, whereby you can manage the recording schedule of your box both from a local pc and remotely over the internet. Hope the see that soon on Virgin, it which case you would have reason to hook-up your vbox to your home network.
