Customer services are so confused still - at first he said HS was Â£7.50 per box until I challenged him.

"Matthew" told me that:

TV XL
Broadband L
Sports (incl HD)

would be Â£61.50

Adding Movies to the above would take the cost to Â£76 a month.

Then add in line rental of Â£11.99 and you reach Â£88/month. Not far from my guess of Â£91.49 but more than Sky's Â£78.50. Improve Sky's broadband to answer ahardie and Sky costs Â£86/month.

So Virgin is Â£2/month more and you get less for your money.

As you were quoting current Sky prices, it's only logical to quote current Virgin prices and the same services.

XL is Â£23 after a Â£1.50 discount it will show on the bill as Â£24.50. I made no mention of M as it hasn't been sold over over a year now. BB L is Â£12.50 after a Â£12.50 discount (when take with the phone) - it will shown on the bill as Â£25

Because you're going for the non-phone line pricing, and then just going "then we'll add on the phone line" rather than going with the phone line pricing which is discounted.

TV XL, BB L, Phone M and Sports is Â£68.99 a month, so Â£75.99 with HD.
With movies it's Â£73.99, or Â£80.99 with HD.

Argument between HD value of Sky & Virgin? Virgin everytime.

Instead of counting the number of HD channels (why would you??), count quality HD content in hours. Virgin blows Sky out of the water with on demand, Film 4 HD, Picture Box, now Sky Movies HD...

Could someone kindly remind us all again what superior HD channels we're missing on Virgin that are currently exclusive to Sky...

I'm a bit confused here. Did you asky them what a bundle of tv + phone + broadband would be? The way you have worded it you are adding telephone afterwards so it isn't a proper bundle price.

That is WRONG.

You end up with the following - BB L, TV XL, Phone M, Sky Sports and Movies with the HD option.

The price for that is Â£81.99 per month.

The only thing you cannot put into the builder is the Â£7 for the HD premiums. Everything else comes to Â£63 + Â£11.99 = Â£74.99 then add Â£7 to get the quoted Â£81.99 total.

PS One of the flaws in your pricing is that Sky Movies is only another Â£7 extra on top of Sky Sports, not Â£14.50 as per your argument.

they really should have updated the builder so that their customers can accurately calculate what everything costs.

It's hardly difficult. Whatever price the builder gives you for the services plus your chosen Sky Premiums add Â£7.

On a side-note Virgin need to update the look of the V+ box, its very ugly, the V HD box looks far better, i'm sure it would help with getting female customers

My Virgin insider has told me today that all Sky Basic HD Channels (The one that Virgin will carry) will be in the XL Package from launch - no launch date was given.

For goodens sake, why? Do you want to penalise other customers, just because you have chosen to pay an extra Â£7 per month for PREMIUM channels.

Free non premium HD channels is what Vigin Media advertise and should stick to.

No one likes the Â£7 charge for premium channels but it seems to me it is Sky/ofcoms doing, not Virgin's.

Sounds like you are being a bit vindictive to me just because you have chosen to pay more.
