Im using the Ultimate x64 version and the speed difference is certainly noticeable when it comes to dealing with large spreadhseets in Excel. Outlook 2010 is also a massive improvement.

Thoughts?
iv been using the beta x64 version since it was released & im impressed, am going to install the Enterprise version soon.

Re: Office 2010

Yeah, have been using 2010 Pro x64 for a few months now and its so much better than previous versions. Its so quick to load all applications and the new Outlook is fab! Comapred to Open office its streets ahead in my opinion.

Re: Office 2010

We have just got it at work. I see they have got rid of the ribbon then.
It looks a bit chaotic in places.

Not got it yet, looking into it, but I haven't got any issues with 2007 at the minute. Shall have to see...

I did try it - but our current 'works program code' didn't work, so presumably our company hasn't yet gone for an Office 2010 licence agreement?

As with all things ... horses for courses. If it does what you want and you like its performance, over and above the alternatives, then great, you pays your money, you takes your choice.

On the other hand there will be plenty of people who find that OpenOffice/NeoOffice does the job more than adequately. I write for a living, and all my copy is originated in NeoOffice for Mac. Until he retired, my dad ran a canal boat hire business, and all his boat bookings and accounts were done in NeoOffice as well. It may lack some of the highly polished bells and whistles of MS Office, but it is still very useable, very powerful software.

Re: Office 2010

Have only used it for about a week but I think it's a nice improvement, definitely prefer the quick access file menu in the top left and everything seems a tad snappier to me. Also the new skins look a bit cleaner than the 2007 ones, not sure precisely what they've tweaked but I like it!

Re: Office 2010

If you bought 2007 after 5th March, you can download the equivalent 2010 version free...

Yes, this. It's a really good deal if where you work is signed up to the deal. Though I'm pretty happy with Office Enterprise 2007 that I got for £15 (back when they actually posted you a DVD) so unless there's something really cutting edge and radical in 2010 I'll probably give it a miss this time round.

Re: Office 2010

Having an Android phone I was curious to find the Google Calender Sync won't work with 2010. My free trial ended this morning so it's back to 2007 I go, a welcome change
