sorry, didn't think it was that good - mainly because I didn't like the, imo, excessive use of harmonics during the solo - it is a bass guitar, play bass riffs, fgs ...

Yes, but that's the point - he's using notes that are not usually heard by a bass player.
And to be able to play a melody like that while providing a bass line at the same time is talented.

The melody/bass line simultaneously is clever, I'll grant - Mick Green used to do the same with lead/rhythm guitar on only one fretboard - I just felt for this particular track the harmonics were overdone - only imo
