Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Having just missed out on the medals at his last karate competition, Osem Jnr won a gold medal for kata at his latest event and I managed to catch all the action in HD video on my new Sony DMCHX1 camera. I was very nervous so the anti-shake function came in very handy I can tell you...

iPhone 3GS 32GB for £300, 6 months old with 12 months AppleCare left. Still getting used to owning one outright, it feels weird. Nothing like the Xda which precedes it by 6 years.

Congratulations to Osem Jnr on winning a gold, and getting it all on video will be a reminder for him/you now, and in years to come, of his great success.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Thanks Tinky Last time I took video of him competing my hands were shaking so much it rather looked liked we were in the middle of an earthquake... I've explained to him that in competition (and life in general), you win some and you lose some. Sometimes you get the benefit of a little good fortune and sometimes things go against you. The main thing is to do your best....

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Had a cracking week-end up in the Lakes, meeting with some old friends, and making some new ones.
I can recommend two places we visited - Jumble Room restaurant in Grasmere, and the Eltermere Inn in Eltermere.
V. tired now, as I can manage on 4-5 hours sleep a night for a couple of nights, and can drink heavily for two nights in a row, but can't manage both now (becoming a bit of a lightweight as I get older)...... early night tonight, methinks.
