help i need answers please.

hi im warlord and im new to this site i just need some help. bassicaly i usally keep my router swiched on at all times, but acciedently turned it off yesterday and when i did a spped check my download speed has droped by 400kb. i know its not alot but to me it realy is, anyone know why my speed has droped just cause i turned my router off. im with b.t broadband and i think they are trying to screw me. please help. also i have 2 lines in the house mine and my mums, my mum is with sky and she gets 4.2megs and im with bt and i get 3.4. whf also y is this lol. the house wireing is fine. please help someone should i change to 02 or talk talk? sorry for my spelling

Your line speed is dependant on many things, make sure anything that is on your telephone line is on a filter and that the router/ modem is plugged into the main socket and not on an extension of any kind. If you reboot a modem during a peak period when line conditions are not good your speed will drop, reboot late at night or early morning for better sync speeds.
