Re: Help needed please
So ...
You have icons (do you mean shorcuts? You double-click them and they start a program or open a file) on your desktop. You also have icons on the bar near your Start button which are the same as the ones on your desktop.
You want to get rid of the ones on your desktop?
What happens when you right-click on one that you want to delete and select 'delete' from the menu that you get?

Re: Help needed please
Ah, you've enabled the desktop tool bar by the sounds of it, right click the taskbar, point to toolbars and click on Desktop

Re: Help needed please
Right-click on the the bit at the bottom of your desktop, where the programs show when you have them open (the bar that runs all the way across the bottom of the screen), you should get a menu that pops up, hover over the word 'Toolbars' in that menu. You should get a list appear next to the menu, there will be an item in that list that reads 'Desktop'.
If it has a tick next to it click on the word Desktop in the list and you should find that it dissapears from the bar.

Brill. Oh thanks so much Rob. I spend all day trying to get rid and it was so simple. So is there a way of stopping it from happening again

Re: Help needed please
It shouldn't happen unless you accidentally click that toolbar menu item, or unless you somehow drag the Desktop shortcut folder to the bar at the bottom of the screen.
It should be fairly difficult to do by accident, so I wouldn't worry too much - at least you know how to fix it now

Re: Help needed please
If you are talking about an image you have posted on this forum defirish then you can only cancel any part of your post whilst you still have an edit option showing at the bottom right of your post. After that time I would assume a member of the team could edit it for you if you had a good reason for wanting them to do so.
