Hotmail & Outlook

Ages ago i used to have Outlook set up with my hotmail, this didn't affect the Hotmail side of things at all.
But i've set it up again (diff computer) and now when i receive messages into Outlook they're going into my Deleted Items folder in Hotmail.

Why is this? It never used to do this? I wanted my hotmail to stay as it was but now my inbox is empty!!

Re: Hotmail & Outlook

Are you using the 'Outlook Connector' to pick up your hotmail?

Re: Hotmail & Outlook

I know, i like Live Mail and have used it for a long time but i thought i could use both alongside each other like i have done in the past but it would appear not.

If i could get it all back to normal i would get rid of Outlook now

Re: Hotmail & Outlook

If you want to collect hotmail into Outlook you should be using the Outlook Connector.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/ou...225181033.aspx

If you'd prefer to use Live Mail then that will work too. You certainly don't need both unless you need other Outlook functions such as Calender or Tasks.

Re: Hotmail & Outlook

Hiya, thanks for the link... It doesn't say anything about being able to load up my Hotmail/Live mail aswell as have it come into OUtlook.

When i receive messages into Outlook, they go into my Deleted items folder at hotmail, but to the inbox on Outlook. Does that make sense?

I want them to stay in the inbox in hotmail.

Live mail and hotmail are the same thing aren't they? It's Live mail i'm using then.

---------- Post added at 11:51 ---------- Previous post was at 11:47 ----------

Oh i see (i was impatient)

Ok now to find a way to get all my messages back in the right place without losing them. I'm such a hoarder

Thanks

Re: Hotmail & Outlook

I suspect you have Outlook set up to delete e mail messages off the server.

In Outlook, go to "Tools" "E Mail Accounts" then "View or change existing e mail accounts"

Select your Hotmail account and click the "Change" button. Now click on "More settings" select the "Advanced" Tab and under the delivery heading, tick the "Leave a copy of messages on the server" box and tick the "Remove from server when deleted from deleted items" box.

Your Outlook and Hotmail accounts should now stay in sync.
