Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
I emailed UTV to ask about HD version. Just a standard reply
Thank you for your recent email regarding the launch of ITV1 HD.
One2escape,
We are currently in negotiations with ITV in order to provide a UTV HD channel in Northern Ireland in the near future.
We appreciate when viewers take the time to contact us as your views are important and have been seen by UTV senior management.
Best wishes,

Media Boy - Have you ever though about starting a twitter feed for your latest news? Even if it is just linked to your blog and updates when you create a new post. Would be most helpful.

Cheers guys. As I said I'm not a sports fan so I didn't read the ofcom report in great detail, I just can't believe Sky haven't got some devious scheme up their sleeve. Just my suspicious mind working overtime I guess.

The only way that VM are going to get more customers is to introduce more channels, especially HD channels to the network, it is ok for VM saying we do have 'ON DEMAND', but to get more customers, they must introduce more channels, and just +1 channels, as all these are is a repeat of the original.
VM is a broadcastor, but it must try and get in line in Sky, otherwise they will be second best.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
I've read a few posts on here about SKY potentially moving some sports from SS1 & SS2 onto SS3 & SS4. I don't think they'll move anything but what you'll probably find is the extra 23 Premiership games they are showing as of next season, the rights formerly held by Setanta then ESPN, will go directly on to SS3 or SS4.
This is just my opinion, but it's what I expect from SLY

Typical, we'll be the only ones in the UK not to see the World Cup in HD

Ofcom have said if they do that, then they will make SS3 and 4 part of the rate card.
