1 home build desktop and 1 macbook.

The desktop is hardly used, 99% of the things I do are on the laptop these days.

Why do people have all those. You can only use one at a time

I know households that have more than one people in them.

Seriously, leaving aside consoles etc, in my household of 2 adults and 2 kids, I frequently have to wait until the kids are in bed before I can get on CF

Wanna bet?.........

Regardless of just how many one person can use at once we have more computer users here at home than the average household generally does and 5 children are always a great excuse for needing umpteen computers.
We did try the sharing thing for a while but that just cause too much grief, they could never get me off the thing of an evening.
I also get offered quite a lot of the old, unloved uncared for machines that the local populace no longer want as well so there`s always spares lying around.

Re: How many PCs does your household have?

Sorry for consecutive posting but couldn`t upload the pic`s in an edit.

It seems i dont even get asked now if i want the old unloved machines that people are forever offering me......they just leave them at the door now with notes attached.
Judging by the state of this latest heap i`m not surprised mind you. Not only is it quite ancient but it`s probably in the worst state of repair i`ve seen so far.....as far as actual hardware is concerned anyway.
broken.jpg

Rarely are any of the unloved machines i`ve had pass through my hands physically broken in any way and asides from the odd knackered jack or kaput RAM/Drive etc it`s usually always just software issues the machines in question suffer from.
The hinges on this sad old thing though were completely ripped out with the screen inverter hanging out the side like a panting dogs tongue. The bottom the the screen plastics were held together with sellotape and the solitary USB socket has somehow been mangled beyond repair.
Considering the age of the thing i`d never even contemplate buying the parts to fix the thing properly so there was only one thing for it.......

Upgrade the sellotape................. to gaffer tape.

Those poor sad machines must feel so gratiful for giving them a good home.
