Virgin Media TV - no plans for the sale of VM TV or its 50% ownership of UKTV, in fact VM are looking to grow with HD conversion of some of these channels.
Living HD/Sky1 HD - DONE DEAL - a pure swap deal fully expecting some kind of press release in the coming weeks.
Sky HD Pack - VM&Sky have already started to broker a deal for these channels - note these are for Sky's 100% HD channels - Not Joint Ownership HD channels i.e. MGM, Bio etc etc and ?s around the Five HD deal.
Don’t read too much into if the Tories win - The fact that Ofcom has issued the report means neither Labour or the Tories can overturn this ruling, the ruling can only be overturned if Sky take this through the European courts and win.
If the Tories do win and strip all power from Ofcom then that does not mean they can overturn all previous Ofcom rulings made.
The Sky HD pack is expected before the summer
I'm not going to get involved in replying to each post quoting the above - the fact I have a very close and trusted friend within VM.
I will post more if and when I get any other information.

Not true - there was a large advert in yesterday's Observer about watching the world Cup in HD on VM and guaranteeing installation before World Cup.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
If the above about sky hd channels is true, surely it's sensible for existing sky customers to switch to virgin media... with all of sky hd channels anyway at a price, plus other hd channels for free...as VM Do not currently charge for hd.
this may change as vm get more hd channels, but it's a thought...
dont sky currently charge for all their hd channels, minus the freeview ones

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
I believe they charge an extra ten pounds a month for HD, bu customers do get a bigger box than normal Sky+. There many advantages to VM over Sky, but it is not always easy for Sky customers to see. Sky also have some advantages over VM, so I suppose, for many, it depends on what ones priorities are.

Oh and there's no way VM won't charge for HD Sky Premium content. They would surly loose too much money. It might only be a nominla amount for those of us on XXXXXL or whatever they call it these days but it will be there.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
I've been following the VM HD developments across these forums for many months and Big Reds 'predictions' (amongst a couple of others only) have all been pretty nailed on.
Iro Sky 1 HD on VM, I dont believe a particular 'go-live' date by forum contributors has ever been mooted? 'Coming soon' from somone who I consider has proved to a reliable source of info is good enough for me.
I think the VM HD service is FINALLY gaining the momentum we've all been (too) patiently waiting for.
