Mr Blair’s eyes started from his head with mock delight as he recognised, or pretended to recognise, former comrades. The former Prime Minister’s tan is that indeterminate shade of orange which suggests too much time spent in international airports, while his face has become so lean it has started to collapse inwards upon itself.

Yes and in the last 13 years New Labour have made it so much better haven't they..... Their list of sleazy cronies far exceeds that of the Tory's you cite by about as much as their ruination of our economy dwarfs the ERM debacle. It may have escaped your notice but unemployment now isn't far off 3m (even if you exclude all those that aren't counted anymore) and that's including all the paper pushing non-jobs Brown's created at vast expense. Illegal wars, selling off our gold reserves, ID cards, stealth taxes, raids on the pension funds, uncontrolled immigration, cash for honours, ineffective regulation of the banking sector, etc., etc., etc.... All great New Labour success stories.....
