PS3 Internet

Hi,
Sorry for this post, single mum and pretty useless with IT. I have a wireless internet with the modem downstairs, my son has a PS3 upstairs in his bedroom and now wants to be able to connect to the internet.
In idiots guide format please anyone help.

to start with, do you know the name of your wireless network (SSID) and the password for it? I dont mind trying to talk you through it

If it's a BT modem then the password will be on a sticker on the back of it, if not then it will be in your welcome letter from whoever you get your broadband with, go to network settings in your PS3 and just go through the easy to follow step by step guide, most of which is automatic,you need to select wireless and then it will search for the wireless connection and you select your connection, it will then ask you for the password , all you need to do is enter this and you will be joined to the network then just click on test settings and your done. Simples!
