moving email and webspace
hi all
OK heres the situation, currently I live with my old man and the virgin media acc. is all in his name.
the primary email account alias is my email spike77.
my website for the martial arts club, also sits on my pwp site.
now them in the next few months am probs gonna be shifting in with the girlfriend across town.
she already has a virgin media account but doesnt use the email at all, prefers her hotmail.
me old man will be cancelling just the broadband and keeping the TV and phone.
is there a way I can keep my email address active and even the PWP site?
can it be transferred to her account?
it'll eventually become my account once I'm in there and have done a transfer of responsibility, cos I get a discount deal with me working for DSGi.
I'd rather not go through all the hassle of creating new email addresses and re-uploading everything for the site, then re-directing the domain.
if poss.
any thoughts?
all help appreciated

Re: moving email and webspace
You can have the email addresses moved to her account as long as you're both either @blueyonder or @ntl. When this happens she'll lose the existing email address on the account and your email address and pwp will become hers. If you ever have an issue with either the email address or the pwp we'll need to speak to her to confirm we can speak to you.

Re: moving email and webspace
Then she should be @virginmedia.com
Are you @blueyonder or @ntlworld?
If she's in an ex-NTL area and you're @blueyonder or vice versa it can't be done.
Whether this can happen after the NTL migration is complete is a question I don't have the answer to.

Re: moving email and webspace
It should be fine to move it over then if you're both @blueyonder.
I'd say the biggest thing to be aware of is that once the move and transfer of the email address is complete your girlfriend will own your email and pwp.

Re: moving email and webspace
For the move and transfer to be done, DPA would need to be passed by both your dad and your girlfriend, usually on the same call. If you can't get them both on the same call at the same time, have your dad call and request notes to be left on the account saying he gives permission for the move and transfer to go ahead.
