Picture Freezing all of a sudden

Hi all

At the end of my tether with Virgin Media this week. Managed to get 1/2 a week off work, great i thought, catch up with some online gaming.

However:
Wednesday- Internet down from 1pm till 10pm, rang, spoke to someone from India, only said problem in area (though was not on thier service status)

Thursday- Down again- Rang, spoke to someone else from India (+ being treated like a 5 year old- ie have you tried rebooting), told outage in the area.

Friday- Seemed ok, all of a sudden Huge Packet loss, loss of connection. This time rang cancellations (only certain amount you can out up with till you cancel). This time though spoke to a very very helpfull lady who investigated and told me there is a known issue in the area with muck on the cabling, which is being replaced. However estimated repair date is 31st.
That was okay with me because at least i know why its been playing up. Why the previous days this wasnt communicated with me i have no idea, would have saved me about 1 hour hanging on the phone listening to useless messages and alot of built up anger.

Now sitting down tonight to watch TV, and all of a sudden my picture keeps freezing and pausing and going all pixelated. Rang Virgin (treated like an idiot again ie are you sure its not on standby. On hold, asked to choose the type of music i want to listen to) and finally got through to someone who said no problems in my area.
Ive checked connections, all ok, ive reset box numerous times, keeps freezing.

Really at the end of my tether with Virgin but its a pain to move to Sky or someone so dont know what to do, but im not getting the service im paying for. Tempted to cancel my direct debit this month

Anyone else having issues in the Herts area tonight with thier picture?

thanks in advance

Update:

All TV and Internet went offline. Rang service status (remember they told me no issues on the phone) and service status said problems in my exact postcode area.

Now all come back online and seems fine.

Your not in the south west by any chance are you? They were having freezing picture and intermittent internet since yesterday evening. Not sure if it's fixed yet.

I understand things go wrong now and again and i can live with that, but its not being told and the awfull service and being treated like an idiot (tv problems, you sure its not on standy or try rebooting modem etc) that drives me mad.

You'd be suprised how many times people do have it on standby and how often rebooting a modem fixes an issue..

I understand your frustration though... glad all back to normal for you
