How to keep my NTL email account

I am looking for a new property but the area has no NTL cable. I do not want to lose my NTL email account. Are there any way I can keep it?

Thanks!

Re: How to keep my NTL email account

I believe NTL (or Virgin Media as they are now) still offer an ADSL service.

You may be able to keep the email if you're on that service (maybe) - I'm sure one of our resident VM staffers could help clear that up better than I.

In the mean time I'll move your thread to an area of the forum which covers 'email'.

Re: How to keep my NTL email account

The only way will be to transfer to thier DSL service and ask them to transfer over the account settings (I think they can do that) otherwise your email addy will be cancelled when your account closes down

Worth checking through the moving house option, when you ring customer services, to see if they do something similar to BT. I pay BT £1.50 a month to keep my old BT address through BT Premium mail. Probably same as you with NTL I want to keep my old address in case I go back to BT some day.

You will need to open another email account with say googlemail and transfer all your contacts across.

No cannot be transfered, sorry.

At present we cannot even transfer @virginmedia.com to @virginmedia.com even if they move next door, but that is a separate issue but shows that our hands are tied.

Or even better grab a domain and keep the same email address for life no matter what ISP you're with.. Better than relying on a 3rd party all the time..

This, using either gmail apps or live domains if you don't want the hassle of setting up your own mail servers

Right, I understand now. Maybe I can do a compromise thing. I had my NTL account for 12 years. I cannot afford to lose it because the social/professional links. What I want is move to a certain city, not exact that house. So where can I find a NTL coverage map? I know I can call someone or type in the house number in internet to check. But I prefer to know where I can go then start search.

Someone shed a holy light? Where can I find a NTL coverage map?

You can try the postcode checker but if you are moving into an EX - Telewest area it cannot be transferred either, so you need to say what city you are moving to so that you can be given a definitive answer.

POSTCODE CHECKER
