Email accounts problem

We have noticed that since switching to the 50meg service a strange thing has happened to our email accounts.

Prior to the install any user of this or any other pc in our home network would receive each others email. What i mean is that when the main account was created and then aliases were added i would get emails for me to my email address and emails for me sent to the wifes email address and vice versa.

This is of course that the "leave a copy of messages on server" box was ticked in the advanced window of the email accounts on both accounts we use.

I hope this makes sence as i can't think of a better way to describe this.

Could there be something in the new router causing this as i can't find anything relavent in there.

Thanks.

BTW we are ex Telewest therefore have blueyonder email accounts.

Re: Email accounts problem

Hmmm, wonder if:

A) Your email address has been migrated to the new Google email platform and if so....
B) Your aliases are now fully blown email accounts since migration.

Perhaps a VM employee who posts here can throw more light on the matter.

Re: Email accounts problem

If you are using Outlook 2007 (as I do) then you can use Tools/Account Settings to specify the personal folder into which messages for a particular account should be placed.

Or have I misunderstood?

Not quite accurate

What has happened as part of the migration, is that all the secondary alias have been merged into the primary alias for each mailbox.

So if you have mailbox abc with aliases 123, 223 and 323 then you will need to now use 123 to access the mailbox via webmail. E-mail addresses 223 and 323 are then avaliable as 'send as' options.

GMCinema is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Email accounts problem

Still pop3 access and behaviour is flawed. When picking up email from a pop3 mailbox mail get tagged wrongly as subsequent pickup trials with a different machine do not retrieve any mail at all. Yet the mails are there and visible in Webmail. This needs fixing urgently.

Try this to retrieve mail on more than one machine.
