Re: Gordon Brown's new year message
Some may not appreciate our PM, but there is no need for this thread to be so full of vitriol.

Re: Gordon Brown's new year message
I'm sure there are a considerable number of people deeply grateful to Gordon and to the Labour party.
Unfortunately since I am self-employed, white and solvent I can't think of one good reason to add myself to the list.

Re: Gordon Brown's new year message
I would strongly urge people NOT to vote for Cameron, he will ruin this country, it has already been leaked that he WILL privatise the NHS, if he gets in, and we all know what that means, the NHS will be means tested, if you can't afford treatment, you won't get it.

Tories will just go back to being tories and the circus will start over again as we will never learn that politicians lie to the populace.

Arthur
Brown has already destroyed this country with his total lack of management, With his total lack of fiscal control and with his total lack of support from his party.
Please produce the facts about the nhs. I must admit i grow tired of asking you for facts but you still don't get it do you.

Until someone with some morals and who actually like Britain, the government will be crap and in debt, the government be it labour or tories or any other parties will ruin the country.

As I said the Tories will just go back to be Tories who do not actually care for the likes of us as we have no silver spoons in our mouths and they will screw us as they did prior to Labour getting in.
The Labour government we have now is a poor copy of a Tory party and it took people a while to realise that and now they are on their last legs.
We would be no better even with our hand wringing liberals in power.
Each of the the 2 main parties are bad in many ways and the grass is always greener on the other side until they get in power and we see them as they really are.
We would still have gone to war as well regardless of what the Tories say as they would have equally bent over backwards to please America.

Re: Gordon Brown's new year message
I think the speeches on 2009 Unwrapped last night are far closer to the truth than anything our politicians come out with
Lib Dem: 18m15
Labour: 34m14
Conservative 43m27

Dont you worry because we are going to get the chance to put an end to his time in office.

Re: Gordon Brown's new year message
Siruis, let me make one clear, the facts that l gave about the 'privatisation of the NHS' was in two papers, and it was leaked to the nationals, and both a TORY paper and a labour paper produced the docs.
But whatever party get in we will have the same crap BEFORE the election and then it will change, when they get in, l have been a Labour voter all my life, but l changed about four years ago, when l needed help from my local Labour MP and l did not get one reply, so l now vote Lib Dem. What we need to run this country is someone with the balls, to get rid of people that use this country as a soft touch, and claim benefit and get rid of the expenses crap used by MPs, this money could then be used for NHS, OAP'S, and Education, and the Tories won't do this, and neither will Brown, but he has started something, so let him finish it, If Cameron does get in, it will be like Thatcher Two.

Not sure where you've been since 1997 Arthur but, between them, Bliar and Brown beat him to that!
Privatising the NHS? Well with all those pesky PFI deals Brown's already committed us to for decades to come, he's already gone a long way down that route. Not forgetting all those tuition fees they've introduced - not bad for so called socialists whose 3 main priorities for government were "education, education and education" eh? I wonder what you'd have been saying if the Tories had done that...

Since Arthur never seems to link to things, perhaps this will help - Telegraph
However, Arthur must have missed the bit that said
Quote:

“David Cameron meets with lots of people of different views but his commitment to the NHS is clear and it should be an NHS that is free at the point of delivery.”
