Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
You do realise the headline on the front of the NOTW football pullout on Sunday was something like 'United and Rooney take a dive'. I'm not saying they made a big deal about it, i didn't read the article that went with it, but they didn't not write about it like some people are making out.

Apparantly Wolves have made 10 changes to the team that beat Spurs for the game tonight, somethings telling me they're writing this off as a defeat before its even started.

Really lost patience with Walcott now, so poor.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
David Beckham heads back to Old Trafford with Milan while Chelsea will welcome back Jose Mourinho and his Inter Milan. Arsenal face Porto. Not a good draw for Chelsea and United would have wanted to avoid AC Milan but should win it.

Porto won't be push overs with Falcao & Hulk up front.

I think Rafa can expect a P45 in with his Christmas card from the LFC management

Enough BS from SAF, we need a new keeper desperately. Get rid of the useless Pole, Foster and the ageing VDS.
A new and proven striker is needed too. Rooney is unreliable, Donkey is Donkey and Owen's best is behind him.

From the BBC
Quote:
"1708: We are 99% certain that Manchester City will be releasing a statement at about 1930 GMT. I'm not going anywhere until that statement arrives. Stay tuned."

Citeh ITKs on BlueMoon have said all day he would be replaced with Mancini. Apparently he has been spotted in the stand and Hughes waved an elaborate goodbye after the game.

1831: BREAKING NEWS: Manchester City have confirmed the sacking of manager Mark Hughes, and announced the appointment of Roberto Mancini as his replacement.

Don't know yet how accurate that is, at least though he's gone out on a win

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Wow. What a day. Losses to Liverpool (well, ok, not a shock) and United. Hughes is fired. Now, Harry Redknapp is to face 'proceedings' about the tax thing.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
But 8 draws this year isn't top flight football (well not to the people that make the decisions)
I wonder if he'll hold the record for a sacked manager who's only lost (i think) 2 games this season
