Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
If this isn't showing the weakness of the squad I dunno what will. Ferguson, regardless of what he convinces himself of, isn't in a position to drop players.
Dear Oh Dear, we get all the decisions at OT do we? Shocking. ECL refs are pants.

I don't understand the Liverpool are out of the Champions League stuff if they lose to Lyon.
If they lose and Fiorentina win this will be the group:
Lyon - 12 points
Fiorentina - 9 points
Liverpool - 3 points
Debrecen - 0
Liverpool will then play Fiorentina at home. If they win the difference will be 3 points. Meaning in the last game Liverpool need to win against Debrecen and Lyon would need to beat Fiorentina. Then it would be goal difference only.

Opps. Liverpool would need to beat Fiorentina by two clear goals, or 3 if Fiorentina get an away goal.

Just play your best team available, get some goals and then take them off. Good job we have some serious character in us. Could have won should we have got the Pen we should have had.
You wonder if saving some of your first team players works when they have to come on and bust a gut for half an hour?

I would be more worried how this team has forced United to do a come back. Like Arsenal were against Leige.

Some fun results around Europe tonight. Bordeaux beating Bayern Munich 2 - 0 away is a massive result leaving Munich with a serious danger of not qualifying for the next stage. Chelsea drew but, I think, go into the next round.
AC Milan drew with Real Madrid and in the other game in the group Marseille won 6 -1 against Zurich. That group is still kinda opening leaving Milan or Madrid at risk of an early exit.

If it panned out as you say damien, whats the odds on Lyon & Fiorentina playing out a draw? Meaning they are both through.

If Lyon win tonight, they will go though anyway. So they may not want to play for a Draw.

So that a potentially bigger threat than Fiorentina is out of the tournament.

Some Rangers fans seem to be doing their club's wonderful reputation a world of good by rioting in the stands.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
WOW! Liverpool almost, almost, had it. Lyon with a last minute goal again. Ouch!
---------- Post added at 21:59 ---------- Previous post was at 21:36 ----------
Liverpool are now 5 points behind 2nd place. They need to win both games. If Fiorentina win against Lyon then they are out.
