Re: PC Guard Cock Up

Try turning off Identity Theft if no different call Tech Support after 0800 for help.

Tech Support is on 151 from your Virgin Media Phone. It's absolutely free.

Or call 0845 454 1111 from any other phone line.

As xocemp said it is not allowed to be given out as it may cause issues if not guided by 2nd line, follow the link.

Re: PC Guard Cock Up

The link has previously been posted here in the past but would not advise anyone to use it without supervision, if you ring up and say that you ran the tool they may not deal with you.

Re: PC Guard Cock Up

Exactly, if these steps are carried out without support there will be a number of " I followed your advice and you screwed my PC/laptop"
So this is why advisers who post here are best steering clear of advice that could cause PC problems. If the official VM forum wishes to advise/post on fixes then on their own heads be it.

Re: PC Guard Cock Up

Best thing is to steer clear of PCGuard in the first place.

Re: PC Guard Cock Up

The plot thickens
This morning I had to enter my Username and Password and it started to install more rubbish - The final screen is still stuck on my desktop (2 hours) and has not activated and I am about to close it - (Will keep you posted)
This is all the garbage now running
The Scanning process runs for about 15 mins before the program even loads using tons of memory and cpu and I cant even open my mails!! Runs all the time afterwards
Before this update only the advisor and the RPS ran
broadbandadvisore.exe 3,544k
ScanningProcess.exe 39,584k
BroadbandAdvisorComHandler.exe 1544k
SansAgent.exe 8832k
RpsSecurityAwareR.exe 6432k
RPS.exe 26,688k

Looking at these posts it looks a bit dodgy even uninstalling this rubbish but I deffo will be doing
Just trying closing that thing that is stuck on my screen now and am going to reboot

Thanks Guys back in a mo
Dave

Thanks Mick
Just going for it now -- Sick of it
Seems to do a scan now on each startup - Got better things to wait for
Never seemed to catch anything anyways - Every weekend when I do a trojan scan with RemoveIt I always get at least one 1
