Broadband Speed Problems (20mb)

Hi All,

My broadband speeds seem to have dropped drastically, I get anything between 2 and 12mb but no where near 20mb. I just rang 151 and spoke to support and was told to turn everything off and power cycle the modem several times and then when I was finally asked to test the speeds I got 11mb and she said this was normal and it will improve, completely fobbing me off. I have no idea what the problem is with it and no idea how to fix it.

These are the modem stats:
Downstream:
Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 6
Downstream Frequency : 586750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate : 6952 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps12Increment17
Downstream Receive Power Level : 0.9 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 35.9 dB

Upstream:
Upstream Lock : Locked
Upstream Channel ID : 3
Upstream Frequency : 25800000 Hz
Upstream Modulation : QPSK
Upstream Symbol Rate : 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream transmit Power Level : 42.5 dBmV
Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 2

Re: Broadband Speed Problems (20mb)

I'm in Chadderton, Oldham so I might be on your server too. Not sure how to check if I am?

I had problems last week, engineer changed my modem yesterday but it didn't need it as it had returned to normal. I think the networks just oversubscribed or there's an intermittent fault
