Re: roomsnet.com warning

If they are quoting you 7 to 9 days, or 1 to 3 weeks they have definately not processed the refund. They kept saying that to me week after week and eventually I got a different style email to the others saying it had now gone through the accounts department, with a confirmation code in a table at the bottom. I was then only quoted 3 days (unlike the completely unrealsitic timescales they'd been giving me before) and it did turn up on the 3rd day. I'd say as long as you keep getting those types of emails they have not put your through yet.

I am still waiting for my compensation but they have just stopped replying to my emails altogether now. I have no idea how many refunds they actually have to refund but I get the impression it's a lot. I've said this before but I really think they should be stopped from trading but I've no idea how to go about doing that.

Re: roomsnet.com warning

Just received an email from roomsnet today with a refund confirmation note. Looks promising!!! It says the money will be put back into the card I booked from in 3 working days. Think this is because the bank contacted them directly demanding I be refunded.

Fingers crossed!!!

Roomsnet are taking bookings again on their website, bloody cheek!!

Re: roomsnet.com warning

We also arrived on holiday on 26th September to find our rooms hadn't been paid for by Roomsnet. I emailed them on return and got a reply within minutes saying the money would be returned to the credit card. I also attached the scanned receipts for the extra money it cost us and was told we would get a refund in 2 weeks. That was a week ago so I will let you know what happens. I can't believe that they are still trading, tried the website a few minutes ago and it would have let me make a booking!!!
I have used them many times over the last couple of years but never again.

I received a similar note on Friday. Fingers crossed. Anyone got their money lately? I've read on few other forums, people writing about getting their money after fighting for about one month.

Re: roomsnet.com warning

I have today finally recieved my money back after persistant emailing and calling them and asking why they trade from a fake address linked to a chemist and Doctor was has been reported to the medical board (and being investigated).

I can not believe how these companies can still be left to trade on the internet and take more peoples money who have no idea this is happening. I will keep fighting to see that something is done for all the upset they caused me and my family after 5 years of waiting to go aboard because of this experience I never want to go again.

Good luck everyone don't give up and don't give in once you get your money back

Re: roomsnet.com warning

Hi there,

I have been watching this thread for several weeks now and clearly there are many stories which are carbon copies of my own. Mine goes back to sept 10th when a holiday in Benidorm was cancelled and I had to fess up £550 again.

I have push and pushed Roomsnet since then and yesterday I did recieve all my money back.

Just wanted to say don't give up keep pushing and it will happen.

The easiest way to hurt them now is not top use them again and spread the word....

Good luck

Re: roomsnet.com warning

I think it might be an idea if everyone posting here writes to Watchdog. This is just the sort of story they like and if enough people contact them about roomsnet.com then they are more likely to run with it.

Re: roomsnet.com warning

Luckily I have not used this firm but I have been following this thread and, considering all the problems you have all been having, I would also think it would be a good idea if everyone who has had problems also contacts the Trading Standards Office. I'm not sure if you contact your local office which you can find by visiting the following link :-

http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/

.... or whether you need to approach the office covering :-

United Kingdom.

Phone (UK) +44 207 402 8192

Registered in England - No : 05362140
.... which is :-

... so if anyone has gone this route it may be helpful if they could say what has been the result so far.

Re: roomsnet.com warning

same story here booked my mother a hotel in benidorm in july with roomsnet
and on sunday just gone she turned up and the room was cancelled.the hotel was looking for E600 for the week, she did not have it.so had to book her a cheaper hotel with alpha rooms online and give her directions to it over the phone. it ruined her holiday..i had a hotel booked trough roomsnet for london for the end of october so i rang the hotel and i was put trough to the manager and he told me he had my name etc but they had not been paid and would be certain it would be cancelled anyway by roonsnet.it wasnt his first time to deal with this shower and he has taken the hotel off their website.. i got trough to roomsnet let rip at some tool who didnt know his arse from his elbow and couldnt answer any of my questions..so im due a rufund of over E700 off them for the 2 bookings..it might take a while but i wont stop ringing and emailing them.
just so i will be covered i rang mbna (credit card) and they are sending out a dispute form to me because roomsnet failed to supply the service all i have to do is send it back with booking receipt and they will credit my account and then reverse charge the roomsnet bank.they said i will have to ring them back to do same again if the london hotel is cancelled..im not taking any chances im going to book another hotel with alpha rooms..will post again with news of how long for refund from roomsnet or mbna ..
if any body is not getting trough by phone they are answering this number
1800550332 its the number they give if you live in ireland but if you put some codes in front you should be able to get trough....KEEP AT THEM AND SPREAD THE WORD.

Re: roomsnet.com warning

All you have to do to get your cash back is ring your credit card company. Forget about dealing with Roomsnet as they sound like they are just delaying fobbing off. The quick way, ring your credit / debit card provider and issue a chargeback. It really is that simple.
