Just wondered if when staying at sons house who has Virgin I can take my V+ box and use it there. Know the card is paired to my box but are there other restrictions which prevent this. Also be useful if I was away for a few weeks letting him have the V+.
Used to do it when we both had Sky so interested in replies.
& to answer the question, depends really on location, the further your travelling the less likely it is to work ( yes i know its not strictly true, but its the easiest way of explaining it )
2 streets away, 'should' work, cardiff to bristol, wont...

I moved from a flat to a house 2 streets away and the box worked for 5 minutes then said I needed to subscribe on every channel so I would say that taking the box and card to another address won't work.

Re: Use of box at sons house
I heard a story on Cable forum about someone using there Sky box in another property within the UK and then got a letter a month later telling them there service had been suspended due to using the Sky service outside of the United Kingdom, strange! So the best thing to do is not use your subscription elsewhere other than your property.
