Can not now control volume with remote

Remote OK except it will not control volume, stopped working when I connected HD cable so I disconnected it but it still won't work . Tried all the code numbers supplied by Virgin but none worked. I have a VM+ stb and a black remote model RC 17202, the TV is a Samsung LE32R73BD.
Help line said if none of the code numbers work TV is not compatible, it must be compatible as it was working. Anybody help me out on this one? Thanks.

Did you remember putting a code in initially when you first got it? If not take the batteries out and leave out for 10 mins, then re-insert...this will set the remote back to factory settings and may work for you.

Re: Can not now control volume with remote

Try changing the batteries. The lack of volume control on mine is usually an indication that the batteries are running low.

Re: Can not now control volume with remote

Sorted that trouble out, the sound is through my music system so i have my tv sound set to off. What i want now is my VM remote set back to default so I can control the volume (yellow slider) via the V+ box. Removed the batteries for 3 hrs but that did not reset it back to default, thx.
