V+ HD Box

Apologies if I have posted in the wrong forum. I had a V+ HD box connected today but the engineer left without showing me how to set up the HD part. He has put a HD cable to the box but just left me with the instruction manual. I am 67 yrs of age and when I read the manual I found it really difficult to understand what to do. Should he have sorted this out for me before he left or is it usually left to the customer. Can anyone help me with this please.

Re: V+ HD Box

They should normally do this for you but it's really simple to do. If you have any difficulty with the following steps, if you go to help and info from the home menu and select help videos, there is a video on how to set up HD.

1. With the scart lead still connected, attach the HDMI cable to the box and TV
2. Press Home, go into settings and select 'Change Display and Audio Settings'
3. On TV Display format, use the right arrow to change to 'HiDefHDMI'
4. On V+ Box HiDef output, choose 1080wide if you want 4:3 pictures to stretch to the screen size, or 1080 if not
5. Press OK and select continue
6. Switch over to your TVs HD Channel and if you can see a picture, press text to confirm.

Re: V+ HD Box

My V+ has started to have a 'glitch' every so often. The screen will go completely black/blank just for a second or two. It's not the TV as it doesn't happen when I switch to my other Freeview box or the TV. Has anybody else had this or any idea what might be causing it? My box was installed brand new about 9 months ago and is one of the older sort.

Re: V+ HD Box

I may be wrong but it sounds like the signal is being interrupted for a short time, maybe time to give them a call?
