I'm probably going to sound bitter at this, and to be fair normally you'd be right but City's 3 goals were more to do with shocking defending/goalkeeping than good performance from the blue half of Manchester.

I still don't take them seriously as title contenders. They've had some good results so far but consistency is the key. Let's see where they are come May. I've no doubt they'll be higher than the usual mid-table position but breaking the top 4.....that's stretching it although there is currently a vacancy available, formally held by Arsenal.

I don't see there being much between Arsenal, Villa, Everton and Man City for 4th spot. It looks like it's going to be an interesting season.

There may even be 5 teams involved for 3rd and 4th place if Liverpool don't attain some consistency or get a couple of key injuries.

Who are also playing well. I don't understand this, Liverpool have lost just as many games and to lesser teams. We lost away to Old Trafford (and showed our ability against United) and Man City. As long as we cut out the mistakes we could be pushing Chelsea.

Nah. They deserved a draw in the first half, they did nothing in the second half. All three City goals came from UTD making childish errors and bar three great saves from Given we could (should?) have scored more. Could easily have been 6-0. Even when Tevez hit the post it was Rooney giving it away under no pressure. Arsenal were unlucky the other week against us, not City.

Quote:
the Guardian has looked at all of United's league matches at Old Trafford since the start of the 2006-07 season
That has to go down as the biggest pile of crap I have ever read! The fact that when UTD are winning the other team is trying to get back into the game and hence "Getting on with it" and when we are loosing or drawing the opposition will tend to be wasting time, bar one of the bigger sides.

We get the same 4mins every week, Home or Away that everyone else gets. Was it Arsenal or Chelsea that had 7mins added at the start of the season and won the game? Difference being the Guardian could care less about that,

Oh it was Chelsea, and there is a Guardian report (that's handy) if you scroll right down to the bottom you will see mention of six mins added, no moaning about it and no in depth report about should they have got it. You will also note it hardly got a mention at the time.

The sight of the stoppage time board spurred Chelsea on with Drogba duly converting
Imagine that as UTD 1-1 Hull - the sight of the stoppage spurring UTD on. Hells bells, the Country would have come to a standstill.

You could equally say that United wouldn't have scored if it wasn't for defensive errors on the part of Man City. It was a great 0-0 we watched then.

I think every manager can trace every goal conceded back to some error earlier on in the move. There were mistakes but credit to Bellamy too. The finishes were top drawer.

Chelsea. The Guardian wasn't comparing one game vs another. They were comparing averages and found the United do in fact, on average, get more time. Sure you can point to one Chelsea game where they had 7 mins added and one United game where there was only 4 but in this case they took all games.

Edit: Not that I believe this is part of a Pro-United Ref Policy. But it is clear United get more time when they are losing. Either because of time-wasting by the leading team or the games they lose tend to be dirtier affairs requiring more time.

Oh come on don't compare the City defending to our mistakes, their first n third goals where disgusting from a UTD standpoint. Lets not compare them to slack defending.

My point still stands, they don't care when it's a team winning three points from added time, seemingly just UTD. Chelsea weren't winning when the time went up, and it was 6min from the off and not added time in added time, so it should have been a bigger deal. Did Chelsea fans have to spend a week justifying it? Did the media break out the calcs?

Quote:

Again, my point stands. Did they bother to take this into account (it may not even be a reason to justify it, I am just throwing a variable in that might exist) and if it is the reason, then it is the reason, and hence they should shut up.

All Craig has done is go over there and tell the guy to get off the pitch. Craig wasn't privy to how much time was left to enable us to get back into the game. The guy made an aggressive move towards him and Craig wanted to get him off the pitch. Craig just put a defensive hand out to push him away. You can never be quite sure what is going to happen in those situations.
Is Mark Hughes aware of the existence of Video replays? And that "Other People" are privy to them?

Ahh , a change of subject , yeah i would imagine we will put our youngsters out tomorrow night against Wolves , especially after the glorious win over Man City last Sunday i'm sure the more experienced players will need a rest

Might be something to do with the fact he lied about not being offered a deal by United then went off to get more money from City?
