Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Premier League cap introduced.
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...560131,00.html
Basically you have a squad of 25 people. At least 8 must be "homegrown". Homegrown means trained locally for at least 3 years before they are 21.
It will probably get overturned in the EU court but it was voted in for the EPL chairmen, presumbably to avoid something more draconian. The rules are a bit bizarre. Fabregas is technically a homegrown player.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Reminds me of the complaints about Rooney celebrating in front of the kop at anfield, completely ignored the fact he scored about 10 yards from where he celebrated

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore believes Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor's weekend behaviour has tarnished the game's image.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
OO his response might be worth listen too. I suspect it involves running 200 miles to the FA and stomping on some faces.
So 3 match ban, plus whatever is forthcoming for the celebration. Any word on the stomping on Fabregas?

I've been reading various news sites & message boards and so many people seem to be sticking up for Adebayor =/ Probably because he did it to Arsenal

Yeah I've been seeing that. Man City fans on 606 are really throwing their toys out of pram. The main points of contention are:
- The referee decided not to send him off at the time, therefore the FA are overruling the ref.
- The FA are obviously Arsenal and United fans and are corrupt. Targeting Man City to preserve the top 4.
- Van Persie isn't getting punished despite being more inflammatory by celebrating near Man City fans.
- Van Persie deserved it.

Damien, write out 100 times "I must not read the utter ***** that appears on the 606 message board"
Seriously, 99.99999% of stuff on there is utter nonsense.

Hard to commit murder in a bright blue football shirt and not get noticed.

That's city fans for you...
Although i'm suprised he's been charged for the celebration because he was booked for it and i thought if a player is punished in a match for something they cannot be punished after the match as well for the same incident? I'm sure that's whats happened in the past, unless theres been a rule change.

Another blow for Citeh and Chelski...

UEFA have approved plans to bar high-rolling Barclays Premier League clubs from the Champions League if they spend beyond their means.
Michel Platini has got his way on 'financial fair play' rules that in principle will ban clubs from spending more than they make from their revenues.
The aim is to end the trend of rich owners buying into the game and transforming the fortunes of a club, as has been the case at Chelsea under Roman Abramovich Manchester City under Abu Dhabi billionaire Sheik Mansour.

Glad we got the result tonight, not so happy we had to rely on the old guard again...
Oh and another sterling performance from donkey.
