Re: mailbox 30mb?
Options:
a - open a Googlemail account, and transfer the mail to that account (you can use the same email address)
b - download emails to personal folders on Outlook
Even my work email address has a finite limit to the amount that can be stored in the inbox and derived folders from the inbox.

Although the amount of privacy you get on Googlemail is debatable..

Very true, however downloading all your emails to hard drive, does leave you susceptible to loss (assuming you want to keep the messages).
And besides, I'd rather the security on googlemail than Facebook!

Over the next 12 months Virgin are migrating their mail services to the Google platform and you will get a 2Gb mailbox but as yet the are no timetables available to say exactly when this will start.

I don't think it is poor, at all.
You, yourself, imply it has been fit for purpose for 'many many years'
All of a sudden you decide it is 'crap'.
In my opinion it is your expectations that are at fault - tanstaafl .
The projected move of the VM email system over to the googlemail platform will improve mailbox size, in the meantime using googlemail itself, or GMX, are potential solutions to your issue.
- I wouldn't be surprised if some housekeeping on your existing mailbox wouldn't free some space, either ...

Re: mailbox 30mb?
Tell me, if/when they do port over to the Google mail platform, that they will use the very excellent gmail spam filter?

That will solve a lot as the main problem for those who tend to hang on to stuff in their inbox with the present limit find they are going over limit because of spam. It''s why I started redirecting my ntlworld mail to gmail.
Mind I have a hard time using up my present 7+GB space at Gmail.

Re: mailbox 30mb?
You are currently using 773MB (10%) of your 7369MB.
Yup, having the same problems as you
