Yep I am quite happy with my 4870, except when playing CoD, on which I have now given up. I'm just hoping whatever that problem was will not be repeated with CoD6.

Lol, I didn't even notice the name thing.
I just meant like for like the Q8s score slightly higher than the Q9s. The Q8s only go up to the Q84 and the Q9s only start at Q93 so the Q83 vs Q93 and Q94 vs Q84 are the only ones you can make a direct comparison between so even though the Q8400 is missing off that list assuming it scales like the others it should be a bit higher than the Q9400 and considering most places stock the Q94 for £30 more than the Q84 and the Q93 for £40 more than the Q82 if punkys budget is restrictive I thought the Q8200 would be the ideal choice.
Dont get me wrong if money wasn't an issue I'd be right with you and suggest an I7 or a Q94+, I just think if hes trying to keep costs down unless he needs the additional features of the Q9s the Q8s seem the much better choice.

My overclocked Q9450 scores a little bit more then the i7 920 which is interesting and 2000 points higher than the Q8300

Showoff
EDIT: My current CPU is only ranked 46th Not bad for a mobile cpu I suppose.

Re: Another "spec my PC" thread.
I cool mine with the coolit aio water cooler on its lowest setting it allows me to clock to 3.4 @ 1.3 volt but that takes the temp right up as high as is safe so I dropped the vcore to 1.26 and dropped the OC down to 3.2 and its comfortable and quiet and performs very well indeed.

Re: Another "spec my PC" thread.
guess i was lucky with my q9450 i have it at 3.6ghz on the same waterloop as my gtx280 and the cpu never goes above 45c with auto voltage.
but will have to see how my core i7 goes when i get soon hopefully.

Re: Another "spec my PC" thread.
3,8 was the most i got it too but that was pushing the voltage a little further then i was happy with and temps of course seemed to go right up but if someone was buying right now and couldn't afford i7 a 9450 would be my recom as they oc very nicely and can stay reasonably cool while doing it.

the only reason my cpu temp goes that high is because of my gtx280 which is the 1st edition, so runs hot anyway but if i have it on its on loop then the temp drops from 45c max to about 35c max roughly.
