I just got the email offer from PC World, I would pay the £80 extra for dual core and vista home premium with a free upgrade to windows 7 http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/edi...09_BankHoliday

Not taking it outside the house, Well maybe the back garden but that's it. Did consider a netbook but look at them they were still around the £300 for less spec than this laptop. £300 is my max can't go any higher than that.

Just seen this one on the Novatech Webiste. I know there is no OP with it but I have Vista Ultimate here. http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/l...xplorae16.html

Fair enough. If you're not bothered about carting it around, purely on screen size along, it's worth going for a low spec laptop.

I went to Staples also today as they had a higher spec Laptop on their website for £303.00, In store it was £349 so when I asked it was because the webiste price does not include VAT which will be added when you go to pay which I thought was bad really.

Someone else recommended I buy a second had one as I maybe able to get a lot better spec for not as much money.

I've found the one that you mean, which has 3GB of RAM.

I suppose it might be because online they target businesses, for whom VAT doesn't generally apply?

Seen this laptop and wonder what people think?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I have looked it up and it sells between £400-£450, I telephoned them to ask what exactly was the problem as they are refurbished but they cannot say but did say I have a 7 day money back gurantee.
