Savings on a broadband upgrade?
Okay here's the issue -
At the moment this is my bill:
Line Rental - £11.00
Talk Unlimited - £7.95
Loyalty Pack B B/ Phone/TV - £-13.50
TV Size: X L - £23.00
Broadband Size: L - £25.00
After checking out the virginmedia website and looking at their latest prices, I was shocked to find out that 20mb size XL broadband was being offered for £20 a month after 3 months of paying £10 a month.
Now, I understand that this is for new customers, but as an existing customer upgrading my package wouldn't I qualify for this new price? By upgrading my broadband I would actually be saving £5.00 a month right?
As well as this, since I would then have all 3 XL services, shouldn't I get an even bigger discount? Your thoughts on the matter would be very much appreciated...

Yes you would get a bigger discount, but it would cost you more.
If you want XL broadband you would be able to upgrade to it for an extra £4.55 - putting you on the Triple XL for £58 a month

Ah right thanks for clearing that up for me. Just out of interest, what would the new discount be?
Also, now that I'm looking at the page with this offer on ( http://allyours.virginmedia.com/webs...uct.do?id=3246) that says they'll give 20mb broadband for £20 a month, If I were to take this deal what would my new bill look like?

Big enough to make XL BB/TV/Phone £58 a month
It would look like you were paying £31 a month because you get XL Broadband for £20 when you take a phoneline for £11

Ok but if I add all this up -
Line Rental - £11.00
Talk Unlimited - £7.95
Loyalty Pack B B/ Phone/TV - £-13.50
TV Size: X L - £23.00
Broadband Size: XL - New Price of £20.00
Then I get a total of £48.45. This is including line rental with discount taken off. So how could I be charged £58?

Re: Savings on a broadband upgrade?
Because the £20 includes an alternative discount
So it shows as
BB XL £37
Phone £11
Discount - £17
The £58 price includes an alternative discount to the one that you have
BB XL will always show as £37 on the bill

Re: Savings on a broadband upgrade?
Thanks for the explanation. Virgin aren't always clear about this stuff, even on the small print.
