Taking advantage of latest prices

Sorry, I know this must get asked about a hundred times a day, but he questions aren't usually very specific....

My setup - 20Mb BB, V+ and a V box with TV L, phone M, current total bill as about £72 per month with hardly any phone calls (£3-4 worth normally, we only have the landlaine now for 0845 etc as we both use our mobiles pretty much all the time otherwise).

I note that the same bundle to a new subscriber would be only £48.45 plus any call charges outside the bundle. How do I get to make this saving - cancel the contract, hassle Retention, or just abandon hope of paying the same as a new user & continue to pay an extra £25 a month?

Paul.

Re: Taking advantage of latest prices

Ring them up, choose the option 'i'm thinking of leaving' (even if you aren't !) - this will get you through to the infamous 'retentions dept', avoid the usual customer services people. Quote the price you've found and maybe the price from Sky aswell if its cheaper and await results. Be polite but firm and hopefully they'll give some sort of discount. If you don't get the deal you want ring back another day; it seems to depend on who you speak to and how they're feeling and if they genuinely think you might leave.

Thanks - we did try this a few weeks ago & was given a saving so small it wasn't worth the hassle. We will give it another crack though, we might get through to someone who 's having a good day!
