Phoned them, completely hopeless. They were trying to tell me that I should only have 4HD and BBC HD today and the rest on Monday, but I don't even have 4HD. He told me that I had it, but checking again afterwards proved that I don't. Will be ringing back again tomorrow, hopefully to get a different person.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

ESPN America has been confirmed as continuing to broadcast (also will continue on Sky as well)

From the website

While ESPN will continue to broadcast to customers on the Virgin Media platform, ESPN America will be changing channel numbers. From 3rd August, ESPN America will move from Channel 533 to Channel 531

Many American sports fans will be delighted to hear that. Presumably that means all the American sport will remain on that channel.

Try posting on the newsgroups if you know how. It worked for me when FXHD had no sound.

So what exactly happens when you type in channel number 146? Have you tried resetting the V+?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

I do hope Horizon will apologize for saying I was wrong twice as it now turns out the information I was given about ESPN America was 100% correct. I apologized for my understandable error re billing so would be nice to think he or she would do likewise for their error, if only to show this forum to be a friendly place considering his or her welcome wasn't exactly pleasant...

If you read the website, it clearly states that ESPN America will stay on Sky as well. And no American sports were going to be broadcast in HD anyway, so no need for them to be shown on ESPN HD.

I would bet HNIC will be in HD. They won't have anything else in HD at night except US sports and UFC.
ESPN America was looking to make a HD channel very soon anyway and there old statement on their site had US Sports in HD

Can someone confirm that Dublin (Is it now london the new HQ??) receive the HD feed and the convert it to SD or is it converted to SD in the US and sent over here

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

Has it been confirmed that ESPN HD is a simulcast of ESPN? Could we see a mixture of content from ESPN and ESPN America on there?

Not confirmed yet will have to see the schedule but I believe they will do a mix of both as they don't have enough HD for 24/7 channel

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

Virgin Media may add ESPN, ESPN HD and ESPN Classic Tomorrow*.

I think Virgin Media may add ESPN, ESPN and ESPN Classic onto the EPG Tomorrow ahead of Mondays launch.

*See Pic.

An Ex-ntl viewer has uploaded to me an pic of the test card on the ESPN Classic channel.

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/5932/espnclassic.jpg

All three ESPN Channels are currently EPG testing.

Oh dear, you seem incredibly oversensitive ...

I never said you were wrong twice. Apart from this post, I have only made one reply to you (that I'm aware of)and said it was bizarre (not an attack on you at all!) that ESPN were telling you that ESPN America would continue when they had already been telling the media it would shut down. Obviously this was incorrect and its great news that ESPN America will continue. This was a disagreement with you, once, not twice and not an attack.

Oh, and welcome to the forum....
