Well, Ross Brawn does have a pretty big ego...
(Even though he comes across as a very nice guy)

From the article

The flamboyant billionaire said at Silverstone last weekend that he is unlikely to continue sponsoring Brawn GP next year, because the Brackley-based championship leaders' value has skyrocketed.

I take it that that means it would now be to expensive for the level of sponsorship that he would want, no doubt as you say that includes renaming the team.

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
i read awhile ago that Branson wanted a deal similar to the Marlboro one at Ferrari. In that deal Marlboro own the sponsorship of the whole car and anyone who wants space on the car has to buy it off Marlboro. That way they can try and break even or get some profit out of it. I don't think Brawn wanted that sort of deal

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
When Brawn (ex-Honda) were an unknown quantity, Branson could probably have cut one hell of a deal.
Now, it's looking like a shootout between Brawn and Red Bull for the top.
I'm inclined to tip McLaren for next year, if they essentially do what Honda did last year... give up and start working on next year's car sooner than they would have done.

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
It is a little ironic now, that in February, when Brawn was scrabbling for sponsorship, no one would touch him; they are now falling over themselves for a piece of the action. It will serve them right if it costs them ten times as much as he was offering a few months ago.

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
Honda were losing money hand-over-fist over the debacles that were their 2007 and 2008 seasons. So they just pooled everything into 2009 and hoped! Unfortunately they were also losing money world-wide, so made what seemed like an economical choice back then, but is looking like a bad one for all the publicity BrawnGP are getting now!

I think the fact that BrawnGP are a 'new' team is helping them get so much publicity. People do seem to forget that it is Honda's hardwork, just relabeled. If they were still Honda Racing, I doubt they'd be getting as much publicity.

Fuji has withdrawn from the F1 calender due to the 'bad economic downturn'.
The Japanese GP alternates between Honda's Suzuka circuit and Toyota owned Fuji Speedway. It is Suzuka's turn this year, but Fuji have pulled out from 2010 onwards.
