But then if they had only told those customers that had been upgraded that it had happened you probably would have posted "I registered for the upgrade, but Virgin can't tell me when I am going to get it. I've checked online and can't find any information. Why can't Virgin tell their customers what is going on?"

Ditow, I live in Middlesbrough.
I found out about the price increase from here, nothing of NTL.
I am replying to the statement that eveyone was notified of the impending price increase. I won't be canceling just because of £2 a month extra.

Re: Upgrade from 2 - 10 meg
Well I was told about it..but it was couched in the usual obscuring blurb..and no I can't post it because I shredded it ages ago.
Anyway I do expect my services to go up from time to time...It would be unreasonable to expect them to remain the same always.

Re: Upgrade from 2 - 10 meg
I have been upgraded from 2meg to 10 meg for some weeks now, and yesterday I received an email from virginmedia8@newsletter.virginmedia.com with the subject being You've been upgraded, so I thought to myself no problems they have just sent this out to let me know, but, I received an email today with the subject being Don't miss out on your broadband upgrade - register today
The email was signed by Trevor Elliott, MD Customer Service
What is going on, surely they should know that I have been upgraded, but why does one email differ from the other?
And why are VM sending out conflicting emails first informing that I have been upgraded, then a day later sending one to tell me to upgrade?
I have checked my account again just in case it had changed, but it does say that I am on the M package at 10 meg.
Can someone please explain.

What is your problem..You've been upgraded and received an email out of context and you are cross?
I'm having to wait until August to be upgraded and all I'm hearing is griping about emails?
Bah!

It's not good customer service though is it??
If they can't get something as simple as this right then it's quite sad really.

As long as my connection works,I'm not over billed and I don't have to pay to report faults why should I get worked up about getting a notification email AFTER I'd been upgraded...
Not being correctly billed and my BB being continually down without CS or Tech Service being able to sort me out and I might be getting grumpy.Emails in the wrong order..I just can't help but say so what...

Sending me an email one day telling me I had been upgraded, then the next day sending a second email to tell me to register for the upgrade, irrespective of whether my connection is working or not this should not have occurred if VM have things under control, quite clearly they haven't.
I agree that there are worse things to happen, but VM haven't been free from negative posts recently regarding the upgrades, have they.....

It will only be October if you have not registered, otherwise it should be by the end of August.

Well there always those that complain about just about anything let alone a free upgrade and email notifications..
