re: The iPhone thread
I've seen the TomTom update on the liveblog (watching Gizmodo's one)
Quite impressed with everything so far.

re: The iPhone thread
New iPhone (the 3GS) includes 7.2 meg HSDPA support and an autofocus 3MP camera with tap-to-focus (you can select which part of an image to focus on by tapping) and video support.

A compass to boot as well woohoo..
No real change, but some minor changes such as the voice control etc.
3G model stays on market at $99, so lets see what UK price will be, £59? maybe...
Also $199 for 16gb, and $299 for 32gb, so expect £159, 259 respectively?

and about 50,000 Applications, and counting...
Anyone see the rude remark about the Palm Pre, only 18 apps?

re: The iPhone thread
The 3.0 software also introduces the option to use your iPhone as a fully working modem. However O2 are making you pay extra. 3gig for £15 a month, 10gig for £30 a month. Ouch!. Doubt many will be taking that offer up...

Very expensive conversion for UK pricing on the new iPhones:

The highest tarriff prices will be on an18 month contract at £29.38 and £34.26 tariffs, so no two year deals here like we saw on the iPhone 3G.
This will likely rankle with those that have just signed up to a 23 month deal wiht O2 to get the new iPhone, so it will be interesting to see how the network deals with that backlash.

re: The iPhone thread
It seems like O2 won't even allow upgrades unless your in the last month of your contract. Otherwise you will have to pay to terminate the contract.
