Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back - a nice reminder of how good Rap was when people of talent/integrity did it. Also shows how bad Hip Hop of the last 15 years has been.

Or rather a large amount of mainstream hip hop.
Many of the best hip hop albums ever have been made in the last 15 years. Minor delving into the current world of rap and hip hop music beyond Radio 1 and MTV would lead most to find many great musicians.

Dunno what it is, they just annoy me. ChuckD's voice doesn't. And PE music is awsome. Maybe I grew out of it as well?
Crown City, that is like retro Rap, it's better than (as you say) Radio1 MTV, I think Rap has run it's course for me.
