Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
Still awaiting 10Mb upgrade in the OL2 area. The thing is since I got the news of this upgrade which though not exactly free, but still sounds like a good deal for £2 and it has awakened my interested in BB speeds. I have a question which I hope someone can answer, is it better financially to wait for this M to L upgrade before I move up to the next level?

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
It isnt an M to L upgrade. It`s still M. There are two 10Meg packages with differing download allowances. As for finance - you pay the same whether you register for the upgrade or not.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
Thank's for the info mjeff2k. If I'm understanding this upgrade then has limits to downloading? Sorry, but when I'm trying to figure out the best options for BB I have to say that all the different tarriffs on Virgin,O2 and Sky makes my head spin.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
Yes the 10Meg `M` package has a 750Meg limit between 4pm - 9pm. If you go over they knock your speed back 75% for 5 hours. The 10Meg `L` package has a bigger allowance (1500meg I think)

If you wait for this upgrade you can see how it works. If the STM proves to be unworkable you can always upgrade to 10 Mb L at a later date.
If you opt to upgrade to 10Mb L now you will have to take into account the effect changing your package could have on your contract and any loyalty discounts you may currently have. You also have to be aware that you would probably be unable to return to slightly cheaper M BB.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
Well tomorrow I should have an engineer calling to 'install' my cable modem (STB cannot handle 10meg and I have been told there is now way to install the cable modem myself). So I will post tomorrow afternoon and let you know if the RM12 area has 10meg.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
I have been upgraded from 2 to 10 I am paying £2 per month more (yes I know they say its not for the upgrade but the other prices have been held) I am only getting at best 5mb download according to online speed tests much less on upload, why is the speed so slow when its supposed to be 10mb. (yes I know its up to) but its a long way short. My modem was supposed to be fine.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
My brother phoned up CS 2 weeks ago and got his broadband upgraded straight away, but when I phoned up today I was told sorry but you'll have to wait until it comes into your area (July - August), but its making me angry how I'm now paying £20 for 2MB when others near me are getting £20 for 10MB.
