From your speedtedt results I would say you have been upgraded. Had you not been your results would have been similar to those in nodrogd's post.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade

I notice most people here are using speedtest.net, I personally don't find speedtest.net to be very accurate at all. I tested my connection 4 times using 4 different speedtest.net servers, clearing my browser cache's between each test. First time, it said I was getting 20MB, then 54MB, then 51MB, then 25MB.. Uh ok.. Because I know for a fact that Im on the 10MB package.. Speedio gives me 9.48MB.. More like it.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade

Still waiting in Stevenage (Ex-NTL) for the free upgrade to 10Mb. Registered interest on-line a few weeks ago. Not to fust as 2Mb was always fine and any large downloads I needed to do I would doing after 10pm and would always be ready for me in the morning. Now I feel I will have bragging rights over my brother and father who have ADSL connections and never get 8Mb.

Cheers VM.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade

Hi gulf4uk, I'm very near to Farnborough on the Surrey side of border (GU16) - looks like we'll have to keep waiting a bit longer then. My area number is 26, is yours the same? I think Farnborough, Aldershot and Camberley areas are listed individually for upgrades, but likely to be completed around the same time.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade

VM are utterly clueless when it comes to communication. I thought they were supposed to be our "mates", "buddies" and "chums". Or summat like that. Who`s bright idea was it to have a rollout page minus the rollout info. Classy.

Can Ben or anyone else for that matter confirm that, as well not involving a new 12 month contract, the free speed upgrade does not impact on any retentions deals still in force. I am on what was described at the time as a Lifetime deal currently giving a monthly discount of £19.46 on my services. I have no wish to jeopardise this but after my Son lost his discount 6 months ago despite being re-assured by VM he would not I am wary of doing anything that changes my services at all.

BTW I have never threatened to leave VM or plan to now, my deal simply came about when I rang VM to see if they had any offers on for existing customers. I couldn't believe my luck at what they offered but you don't look a gift horse in the mouth, do you?

Thanks.
