Re: 50Mb areas

Are there any dates set for 50mb Farnborough, Camberley and Aldershot - I live in the middle of triangle and not sure which one I'm connected too. Can I glean the info. from the modem, I've looked but can't see anything that indicates the node I'm connected with.

I'm area 26 if that helps.

The Connection tab on this very forum should give a good hint.

Re: 50Mb areas

Well I am very happy to have it installed now, getting speeds of 48mbit

The only thing is and I will discuss this in a relevant thread is astraweb doesn't seem to like my speed for some reason.

It doesn't work like that. For example, Liverpool was done before Christmas, yet Knowsley is still waiting. The good news is the rollout is reportedly on schedule, so everywhere should be upgraded by the end of the summer.

Knowsley.

There's no point asking for dates as they are not released in advance. Keep checking this thread.

.
Thanks for clearing that up, does anyone know what kind of system is in place, how the rollout schedule is planned? ie performance of areas etc, amount of top tier users in the area etc etc.

I know no one knows dates etc, but im more referring to the way areas are implemented into the 50Mb upgrade, for instance if one area only has say 10 20Mb users currently, and then another nearby has 100, would the powers that be then rollout in the area with more 20Mb users, as they are more likely to make ££ out of that area.

If this is all top secret info, I dont mind a PM.

Generally speaking the aim is to get it to the maximum number of people as quickly as possible. So the larger areas have been done first.

It may look random geographically, but that's because geography isn't a factor. It all needs doing sooner or later.
