Re: crc errors
Clear your temporary internet files, run a defrag and maybe checkdisk if needed(though unlikely), do this on all your PC's.
Also delete any proxy settings that you may have set.

Re: crc errors
thanks for tip but tried that the pc that had the fresh install has the same problem to so its not a problem this side of the router tried different router to getting lots of chop on the tv package so gussing problem on Virgins side just anoying as when go throu to tech support they repeat like a mantra unplug your wirless router dont have one never want one, and then connect the pc directly to the cm done it and still dont work. tried a friends cable connection and he downloads the files fine. Could it be a problem with the new docsis file thats been uploaded 4 days ago according to the cm logs it is about when all the problems started... Thanks

Re: crc errors
It's not a problem with the new DOCSIS file that is fine.
Are you using the same ethernet cable to connect router to modem and when you connected a PC directly?
Have you spoken to someone who has checked your upstream SNR and done appropriate tests to your cable modem?

Re: crc errors
Using one ntl provided and also tried 2 others just in case
Virgin media tech supports tools according to them not work atm so cant test the modem tried calling 4 times yesterday to speak to the english call center as not very impressed with the level of support from the indian call center. Web browsing is fine but any and i mean any files downloaded are corupted ie error on install package has crc errors in it.

Re: crc errors
Have you tried some big pings to a website?
Try 100 1460 byte pings to www.linx.net say and see if any come back corrupted. They should be able to check your modem at least and see if it reports any CRCs arriving.
The tools don't appear to be totally compatible with the equipment you are connecting to, a Motorola BSR.

Re: crc errors
Open www.routerlogin.net/basicsetting.htm
username: virgin and password: password
Under advanced, go to WAN settings, and put tick on "disable spi firewall".
Click apply.
Restart router and try downloading something. Hope this helps. :-)
