Windows 7 Minidump Analysis

Hello,

I have had 2 unexpected bluescreens this morning, i'm not really up to scratch on analyzing minidumps so I wondered if somebody could look at the 2 dumps I have attached and tell me what they say, would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Yer, it was very stable on Vista and XP 64, I get a feeling it's a driver causing the problem. I did have new Daemon Tools installed, with WIN7 support but still compatibility issues, also had an X64 beta of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware installed, could also be a driver from that program causing problem.

Have uninstalled both, would just like to know the problem in particular for future reference.

Do you have an Nvidia card? The first dump points to hardware the second points to dxgkrnl.sys. Possible overheating? driver issue? if you do not have a Nvidia card then I dunno

No, ATI 4670 HD, have never been pleased with the drivers with this POS in anything apart from XP 64 and X32 vista. Direct X version 11 installed according to Dxdiag, am at a loss.

Re: Windows 7 Minidump Analysis

Windows 7 did report compatability issues with daemon tools. It would as there have been problems with it in the past. I just installed and ticked dont show again. Thats not the problem . But as for some games. I did do directx 9 install. I had to download over 73mb.I then went to the nvdia site and downloaded the 185.81 windows 7 drivers. No problems on games so far.

It could be a directx problem. Do what I did. It wont harm the os and might cure the problem

Not got any catalyst stuff installed, using 7100RC yes, using win7 display driver as it's newer revision than the one in the 9.4 from ATI.

Will try the DirectX thing aswell.

After a lot of arsing about, managed to uninstall the Windows 7 WDM driver and installed new driver from ATI. Also got the DX9 installed, seems fine so far but only time will tell I guess.

Re: Windows 7 Minidump Analysis

Well it did not make any difference in the end, still had issues but have now found the cause for certain. It turns out my motherboard does not like having 4GB of my OCZ PC2-6400 RAM, indeed it is not even listed as compatible with my board. So after some advice on the ASUS forums I took 1 2GB stick out and it has been just perfect for the last few days. So now only have 2GB RAM but never needed 4GB anyway.
