Failed ethernet cable?

Hi,

I think I just had an ethernet cable fail on me, that was from the Cable Modem to the Router.

As browsering was slow and lagging, when direct connected to the modem it was fine.
However to confuse me more I was getting good speedtest, it was just the browsing of sites.

The ethernet able was running along side another ethernet cable that was going from the Router to the PC, passing an 8 way plugs.

It was fine for the past week, it just seem to have happened today.

Does this happen often, or was it static or something ?

Re: Failed ethernet cable?

Hi, try moving the cable away from the 8 way plug as that could be giving a little interference and try resetting your router i.e power off for 30 secs them power up.

Re: Failed ethernet cable?

Hi,

I have changed the ethernet cable over for a spare one I had, and re-routed it away from the 8 way plug. All seems fine now.
