Re: Virgin Media Broadband School
With all due respect how can you possibly comment on a cable service when you dont have it?
Shouldnt you be over at the Be* forums instead....

Re: Virgin Media Broadband School
Everything else aside it's really just a PR stunt.
Go to Virgin Media's 'Broadband School' get educated in why 'fibre optic' broadband is better than your old ADSL service, be accosted by sales bots offering information and special deals, etc, etc.
If you expect anything else you're probably being a bit naive. It's certainly something I would either avoid or attend just so I can ask the questions they don't want to answer

No doubt there'll be a sales element there, but again, why not?

Re: Virgin Media Broadband School
Fibre optic broadband is better than ADSL (FACT)
Now here the part to remember, Virgin Media don't run there network correctly as it has coax and copper also which means it isn't a true fibre optic network, so they have some of the same issues as ADSL has which is congestion, if Virgin ran the network correctly they would split the nodes up to lessen the load on the network they would have spent more time on the DOCSIS 3.0 network plus they would make sure the UBR's are upgraded before they become overloaded.
So at the moment ADSL can in some areas be better than Fibre optic/copper/coax/VM connection

I dare anybody to go to one of these conventions and say "Be* Broadband's better!" and watch the salesmen squirm.
