50mb and Apple Airport Extreme
I had 50mb installed a couple of weeks ago and am using a Airport Extreme router. I am having intermittent internet drop outs which appear to be DNS related, the router reports it has no DNS server info, but Virgins DNS IPs are in place. Also I get a message about there being another device supply NAT, but the only other device it the cable modem.
Only resolve is to reset everything a few times until it seem to click back on
Can anyone shed any light on this? much appreciated.

Re: 50mb and Apple Airport Extreme
Have you tried doing a factory reset through the Airport Admin utility? Sounds like something is confused somewhere, also does the Airport have the latest firmware?
I've not got 50MB but I do have an Apple Airport Extreme and it's rock solid, hasn't been reset in the 4 months I've had it.

Re: 50mb and Apple Airport Extreme
I've had the AE for a few months with 20mb and the only trouble I've been having is since the upgrade, like you say its being no trouble at all. I did the firmware update a while ago and after the install I did a factory reset and set the network up again from scratch. It could be a coincidence, but I've only noticed the problem since Virgin installed the new cable modem.

Re: 50mb and Apple Airport Extreme
Hi,
I have an AE too, lovely router...
It could be that there is some issue with the modem passing on the DNS serverrs when the IP renews, try entering the same DNS server IP's manually on the AE setup screen and see how that goes..

Re: 50mb and Apple Airport Extreme
Entering the IP manually didn't make any difference. just as a process of elimination I am using openDNS's servers at the moment. So far so good.

Has been working for a few days, but now is off again. Same problem orange flashing light, no Internet connection. Done a factory restart and started again. The AE utility software, reporting various problems, no DNS, double NAT.
