Deleting Microsoft office.
I have deleted Microsoft Office 2007 because it was to resource hungry and not user friendly, I have reinstalled Microsoft Office 2003 but it won't run, it seems there are still some old installation files from Office 2007 on my machine, this is stopping Office 2003 from starting. How do I get rid of the old Office 2007 files so Office 2003 will run?
Cheers
Nidge.

Here's the official long winded way
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218
But there are unofficial removal tools around just do a google search for them

Re: Deleting Microsoft office.
Have you tried just installing office 2003 in a different folder - ie c:\program files\ms office 2003\...
You can actually have both versions installed at the same time (I do) so having one doesn't stop you having the other.

Re: Deleting Microsoft office.
at work we have Office 03 and office 07 installed on the same machine. Outlook is in the only app which won't co-exist, so if you have 03 installed and then install 07, and say to keep exisiting office, outlook will be replaced with the new one, but the other apps will co-exist happilly.
if you have Office 07 and then install 03, Outlook gets messy (i.e. doesn't work too well) but all the other apps work fine.

I've sorted it thankyou all, it took all day because it just wouldn't play ball. I was ready to throw this machine out of the window.

Re: Deleting Microsoft office.
Strange how u seem to feel Office 2007 is resource hungry. The only part of it i find resource hungry is Outlook but its as resource hungry as Outlook 2003.

Seems slower Chris that's why I thought it was resource hungry, it also seems to takes forever to load.

Re: Deleting Microsoft office.
Outlook 2007 does take ages to load - and do send/receive (using POP/IMAP - Exchange is fine). But once its running it seems OK to me.
