No proxies working, are they all blocked? o.O
Hello all, I'm with Virgin Media and I cannot seem to use any proxies. I have tried quite a few different proxies now. (not VM's official ones, as I know they shut them all down)
Their webcache thing works, but that isn't good for me because I want it to look like I have an American IP address... I don't want to pay for VPN (since im a tad skint atm) and hotspot shield is blocked by the site im trying to use it on.
Has Virgin Media blocked all proxy use? If so, what is their exguse? Since 141 on the phone isn't blocked I wouldn't of thought that proxies would be.

Yes, but it has a UK IP, the OP wants a US one.

The problem with the webcache is that it is a transparent proxy, so it is still possible to get your IP address.. That and I want it to look like I have an American IP so I can watch videos on their websites :P
I found out why they weren't working tho, I was being a complete moron and forgot to forward the ports on my router so the firewall was blocking them! Major oops on my part.

Ah I get ya now. What I meant was a few years ago they had ALOT of proxies, a huge list of them but they shut them down for some reason, then opened the webcache one which you use.
Now I am just on the search for SOCKS5 proxies with the needed username and passwords, all the lists dont say the passes heh, but I should hopefully find some eventually.
