Re: Check These Specs.. whats wrong with this?
yeah the OPs but I was still pointing out not all cpus named Dual core Pentiums are old or bad
I still think the GFX could be the lowest score possibly on both machines mentioned here
Nvidia Geforce 7650 GS 256DDR2 HDMI / DVI
this is the OP gfx GS means its a crippled GPU and DDR2 memory pee poor imo
All the info we have on Stephens is
256MB DDR3 Nvidia GForce Graphics Card
again ddr3 still old hat and only 256 meg of it . What card is it?

Oh, okay. Imo, it's either the graphics or the processor.

Re: Check These Specs.. whats wrong with this?
Oh, in that case I'm thinking it's also the graphics card. It's only DDR2 and 256MB at that. DDR3 has been on graphics card for a long time now. Isn't the GS version the basic model?

Re: Check These Specs.. whats wrong with this?
Anything below a 7800GT was crippled whether it was a GS or a GT.
The 7650GS doesn't even exist, in the sense that it was never a consumer card, most probably made for OEM partners. It's basically a 7600GS with a HDMI port, otherwise its technically identical to a 7600GS with DDR2... pretty poor indeed and most probably the culprit of the lowest score.

Re: Check These Specs.. whats wrong with this?
its a Intel Pentium D Processor (which i believe is not actually DUAL CORE it was the fake ones intel got humped for because they were saying they were dual and they are not.)
it has the 2 graphs for the cpu in task manager etc..
and the GFX Card is a Nvidia Geforce 7650 GS HDMI/DVI/VGA
which i believe is a custom card made for medion seen as these are virtually no existant when doing a search for them...
vista appears to all of a sudden be running great.. and im using a dif hard drive.. a Seagate bara. however when playing music and opening like an msn window i get LAG on the sound for a split sec which im confused about...

No offense but that's tripe, the "D" in "Pentium D" stands for dual, as far as im aware there were never any single core Pentium D's, and infact, going by your first post... if you indeed have the 830 model, then it is dual core.

Re: Check These Specs.. whats wrong with this?
The D830 is a real Dual, though the 6-series were also idenified as pentium D and were not dual.
www.medionsupport.com - the Unofficial Medion hangout, we don't bite
I'd suggest getting hold of the latest Intel INF update and slapping that on, just in case Vista has not fully identified the chipset

The chipset is dual channel, so you need to keep the memory in balanced pairs for optimum performance.
You may be able to access an advanced BIOS using F11 instead of F1, and a password of am8888eg (or egh) - not sure if this was still available on the MD8800, one possibilty may be to take the memory down to 400 clock (2:1 divider) and tighten the timings.
It also appears that it may be able to use the Intel Matrix storage manager for RAID/AHCI.

Re: Check These Specs.. whats wrong with this?
The 6-series were in fact Pentium 4's, specifically a prescott core.

Re: Check These Specs.. whats wrong with this?
For some reason the 6 series number is often prefixed D - such as D640. Not sure if the later generation P4's were actually referred to as Pentium D until the dual cores arrived, but there does seem to be some confusion around the term, possibly just from the use of D as part of the number at many sites, possibly confusion that if S478 was P4, S775 ought to be something else.
