You really should have posted in that one
It isn't a conspiracy theory, it is currently "work in progress" for isolating audibly certain blood sucking insects and wiping them out....
It isn't even space based, the first trial was using a hand held version, read theregister link on that one it is very good.... I couldn't really do them justice but suffice to say the question was "HOW" was the mozzie tied down

They've come into the money now so what do you expect? They've got oil and gas on tap and are now pulling the strings when it comes to world trade. It was going to happen it was just a case of when.

They haven't, actually - the oil and gas price collapsed and the rouble has devalued considerably against the Euro, which is a shame as the Russians have lots of Euro loans which now cost rather a lot to service.
Remember, what a Russian says isn't necessarily what he means, particularly when he has a domestic economic crisis he might want to deflect attention from.

Re: Russia announces rearmament plan
Relations with Russia have been cooling for a few years now, with former Soviet Bloc states wishing to join NATO.
I see a new the start of a new COLD ERA, I wont say COLD WAR as I don't think it'll that bad but certainly I see diplomatic relations with Russia worsening.
Hey, maybe the Eurofighter wasn't such a bad idea after all?

Well, it's a nice aeroplane and we do have a permanent requirement for air defence fighters with speed and range, but the Russians have, after a brief show of strength, pulled back from their jaunts round the top of Norway. They haven't really got the kit for it on any major basis.
Russia isn't that much of a worry to us, really, they're more interested in Central Asia. They're always interested in Central Asia. They can have it as far as I'm concerned - we should be spending the money weaning ourselves off natural gas, not trying to impersonate the USSR in the 'Stan.

Your plan has one or two little flaws in it, imho
a) we don't have enough nukes to take out all their ICBMs and nuke bombers
b) we may not know where their boomers are all the time
c) a)+b) = us being wiped off the planet, which is not, again imho, an optimal outcome
Oh yes - d) The world has moved on from nuclear sabre-rattling - let's not go back there, please?

Re: Russia announces rearmament plan
Actually, Britain's independent deterrent has always been based on the theory that we can do enough damage to the Russians that they wouldn't launch a limited strike to take us out (limited enough that the US might hesitate to go all-out).
In other words, we can't wipe them out, but we don't need to to deter them.
